The impact is more potent than the purpose.
Through my professional experience, I have learned one essential mindset about myself: The impact matters more than the purpose. Why do I say that? It may not be valid for everyone, but in my case, I need to know I have an impact; I am changing the world and moving mountains. This keeps me going with a high energy and motivation level.
When I started working as an HR professional at my first job, the company was very open to change, learning from errors, and having a big vision to improve the world with its knowledge and experience. The vision was so well embodied in daily working life that it was easy to adhere to and focus on. I saw my mom’s “Growing up My Little Angels” activity as a purpose to achieve instead of an impact to happen.
